Daydream Island Resort

Daydream Island the perfect Covid Safe SMIP 2021 venue.

As Australia continues on an extremely positive path to both economic and social recovery, arguably more so than most countries globally, and as all interstate borders have now officially re opened, today is the perfect time to announce the first of our rescheduled Covid – Safe 2021 Surf Music In Paradise events.

We are extremely excited to announce Long Weekend In The Whitsundays featuring Jimmy Barnes at beautiful Daydream Island, this June on the Queens Birthday Long Weekend, June 12-14 2021.

Jimmy will be joined by his incredibly warm and talented family band.
Barnes’y and family band will be playing 2 intimate, exclusive shows to strictly capped numbers.

June is the best month to visit the Whitsunday Islands!

June is the absolute best time to visit the Whitsunday Islands! Whilst most of Australia is getting rugged up for winter, the Whitsundays enjoys some of the best weather!

SMIP visitors will be able to swim in the glistening Pacific Ocean, the breathtaking resort pools, sail the seas, go for a dive or just sit back and bask in the sun.

Daydream is perfectly placed in the tropics in the Whitsunday Islands, blessed with average daytime temperatures from 23o to 30oC year round.

June is the perfect month where the sun usually shines, and the humidity and heat lessens.

SMIP consulted with the Bureau of Meteorology, Daydream Island Resort, Jimmy, Jane, Mahalia and families to pinpoint June as the best time for fan enjoyment when settling on the dates as we were informed by the B.O.M. that Days are often bright and clear, and temperatures most pleasant. We also wanted to avoid the potential wet months in summer and autumn considering summer 20/21 is in the midst of an El Nino event.

Admittedly, there’s no surf in the Whitsundays due to the blocking effect of the Great Barrier Reef. However, Daydream is such an exciting option, it is a breathtaking location, the ideal venue when you consider safety, weather, the food, the quality of accomodation, easy access and affordability aspects.

We will be contributing to the hard hit Australian economy, the hardest hit tourism and arts sectors, putting back in, whilst having an incredible time doing it!

Book now this Long Weekend event will sell out fast!

Getting back to Kandooma in 2021.

As we all know, the Australian Government is maintaining caution whilst considering the safety of allowing travel to most overseas destinations in early 21.

NZ, select Pacific Islands and Singapore have been classified Covid Safe for several months now – Australian Prime minister Scott Morrison is carefully considering opening up destinations like NZ, Singapore, The Maldives, Japan and Korea up to Australians travelling O’seas.

All indications are that this could be happening in 2021, early to mid year.

“We’ve got a plan with or without a vaccine and that means we’ve got to start looking at ways to be able to have people come to Australia and travel O’seas as safely as possible,” Mr Morrison said last week.

“We’ve already had discussions … with countries like Japan and South Korea.
“I‘ve spoken to both the current and former Japanese prime ministers about this.”

“China have also done very well, Singapore is another one that I’ve mentioned that I think we can work with.

We have Xavier Rudd lined up at Kandooma in the Maldives for June. If we have to delay it a coupla months for safety reasons – we can assure you we will. Xavier is keen as to get himself and family over to his dream destination – so stay tuned.

Of course Jimmy Barnes and family are also itching to re ignite their love affair with Kandooma Resort and the Maldives too.

Jimmy, Ian Moss, Mahalia Barnes and David Campbell are scheduled for Sept. Limited tix still available here – https://www.musicinparadise.com.au/event/jimmy-barnes-maldives/
